I am thinking about putting a 90cm dish at the bottom of the garden. What advantage would a offset dish have over a normal dish.If any.I have seen on the site somewhere That you need a good quality cable for long runs. Can you remind me of the type of cable needed.thanks.yo

Hi,
Offset dishes are the 'norm' really for dishes of that size, and are more efficient than a prime focus. How long is the run? Up to 30 to 40m is OK with wf100 or wc100. Over that, wf125 or even wf165 can be used. wf125 is twice the price of wf100, w165 costs even more. cable specifications- Download Support Material - The Confederation of Aerial Industries Limited You might as well go for a 1m rather than a 90cm, if you have the space. Any well known brand, like gibertini,Triax or Orbital for example should do the job. Robbo ![]()

thanks robbo.I agree a 1 meter would be better. But I am hoping that sometime I may be able to sneak it onto the motor at the front off the house .And hope that the wife dos'nt notice.

![]() I don't think the extra 10cm will make much difference. A 90cm looks quite big too up close. I have mine hidden down the bottom of my garden, I had it there for months before 'er indoors knew it was there, and that was only because my son squealed on me, she thought I had thrown it out. No chance! ![]() |

Another great dish worth considering is an Andrews/Channel master.
