Default lost password

i have a computer that has login in it and want to access the passwords to login. where in the c drive can i acess the passwords . i have xp operating.

I'm assuming that you can already log in and want to change password settings? If that's what you're trying to do, go to Control Panel > Users Accounts. You can access password settings from there.

It wants a administraters password to access. There are 4 users on theis computer. and i lost mine.

if you go this route will it mess anything else up. it won't reset the other peeps passowrds just the one i select. If i do this will there be any other changes to the pc. that will upset my router are anything of inportance

hello these are the answers to your questions that if you follow the route that it will not mess anything else up and it wont changes any other passwords once you have changed your password for the one that you select will not change any other passwords on any other proples names it will only change the one you select. there will be no changes to the pc besides that you have changed your own login on your computer and the pc will just be the same with the same things that you had on the pc in the first place hope this makes sense if not then just post back the things you dont understand thanks

Other passwords will be ok but as far as I'm aware, it will reset drivers and settings (including network) to the default windows ones. You will also need to reinstall all Windows updates and service packs. All your installed software will be ok though, although you may lose your desktop and start menu shortcuts (easy to put back though).

yes there are all of the answers to your questions just my answers were a bit confusing just missed abit of the answers from mine anyways theres the answers and that will help you change your password and your pc will be back to normal

some good info there on how to reinstall windows xp defo will come in handy for other members who have the same problem with their pc or similar problems good info
