I find Dreamview is about the best for streaming. It uses VLC as the interface but it allows you to change satellites and channels from the PC.

Unfortunately whatever is on your tv is also on your pc and vice versa.

The other option is to have a twin lnb and a Skystar 2 card in your pc and then you can watch a different channel on your PC from that on the dreambox. Again unfortunately the sat must be the same on both unless you have multiple lnbs and diseqc switching.

If you have a card in your Dreambox, you can interconnect with a prog like Altdvb on the pc so that the card is read on your pc.

Dreamview is freeware. If you install it, make sure you install VLC with the active-x components first.

I have not used Dreamstream for a short while and it did have a number of problems with audio. They may have been resolved so I will have another look at it.

I have just given Dreamstream another go and it has improved. However it is still early days and the window controls do not work correctly and it switched the channel selector window from one satellite to all channels for some unknown reason. That makes channel selection very laborious.

The website states that you can watch one channel on the Dreambox TV and another on the PC. That is not completely true. It may be possible to watch different channels from the same transponder eventually similar to picture in picture but at present the programme does not have the correct channel lists unless you are in the transponder viewlist. You are likely to select a porn channel and 'er indoors looses her 'corrie'

I have added the two files Dreamview 0.1.5 and VLC 0.8.6d latest editions to the downloads section for those who have sufficient posts and access to the downloads server. They are in the satellites/dreambox streaming section.
