Default Adding a hard drive to Technomate 5400

Hello,

I am soon to receive a motorised 80cm setup with a Technomate 5400 USB so my partner can watch Spanish TV. Many thanks to those who put into this forum as without this and Alsat I would not have had the first clue how to do it (although there is a good chance I am better informed but none the wiser!).

To stave off arguments on who watches what I would like to take advantage of the PVR capabilities of the 5400. Do I have to buy a specific external hard drive or could I use any? I remember reading somewhere that only specific formatted hard drives would work but am unsure where i read this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Happy christmas.

Hi dont know if this is any help, but here goes. I have just installed a 5400 and motorised dish (took me 3 weeks but got it sorted in the end lol) havent tried a hard drive yet but went out and bought a 4 gig flash drive, went into the 5400 menu and formatted it and it worked out fine first time. From this i can only asume that any usb hard drive would do the job.

You're a bit late bigbob

This thread is over three months old, I think tjb would have sorted the problem himself by now.
