hopefully its a 200 or 120,lift the top and find out,if its a 120 it will have a large silver tuner and jtag points,a 200 will have jtag points but these will need to be header pinned, software is available for both these models.

cheers, software to do what to it? does this make it faster?

Reading around I see that its advised NOT to mess about with your subscripted boxes though?

if its your sub modem then dont touch it,uncapping is what you are mentioning and is not advisable at the moment.

as lincsat said theres been attacks from v/m, but so far not to much damage been done apart from the fools like me that used shelled firmware and ive bricked two modems, if you do want 20 meg when you have a go be sure to use a ambit 250/255 because them silver ones ambit 120s cant get 20meg the max for them i have read is 4 meg i dont know how true that is ive never done one.

cheers, I'll read more into it in the new year. What speed do you actually get, say how long does it take to download a 3gig movie torrent? Ive done a speed test and my connection is 1.8mbps, not sure what im paying for, just the basic vm connection i thought...

Reading the big topic your all posting in about bricking and changings MACs it all sounds a bit too confusing !!!

With these macs, does your mate have to have your netwroks bb? and does it have to be 20mb (if you want that) and do you have to get inside ur modem as the diagrams on the link posted in this forum shows....

Reading alot on another site about VM, it seems those speed tests aren't really reliable and alot of people are paying for 20mb and getting 2mb max!

From my test, it seems i should be getting 2MB, i'll carry on with a download now to see the ACTUAL speed. Seems to be due to too many people on your 'ubr' ?!? etc... Can you guys change this if you experience slow speed?
