Hi: This as recently happened to me I spent hours trying to connect my pc to a eurovox box and it kept on saying the same.
Too cut a long story short it turned out to be a faulty cable unless you can test the cable I would try another one.
You could also check out the bit rate speed that technomate 1500ci requires.
I have my reservation about Vista it gave me a massive headache.

Two threads with various answers merged. Please do not ask the same question in more than 1 part of the forum - it only leads to duplicated effort.

Hi all, Bit off topic, but I have no port on my Vaio, running Vista so I bought a usb to com port gizmo, loaded the drivers and all, but Vista well not run the thing. I have a Toshiba, also with a com port, running XP but it runs the gizmo OK, so now when I need to put a new image on the dreambox I have to use the Toshiba.

I am not that happy with Vista and would recomend that anybody thinking about going for it should wait till all the problems have been ironed out before they make the change.

Best regards Wez

Nahh, I think its good advice Wez, and if aint broke don't fix it. I have 3 laptops all running various versions of XP, they all work with the USB-RS232 converter I have. Vista can wait until I get a new PC!
