Default Recovery after power failure

We had a power failure for just over two hours last night where the public electricity supply faded down to almost nothing - the low energy bulbs were the last to expire and lasted about 5 minutes leaving only the LCDs on the washing machine glowing red, otherwise total darkness. Now to the point of the story - my Technomate 1000D also faded fast and I eventually switched it completely off - it was on standby at the time and when the power came on, I tried re-scanning channels. The result was a mess and it scanned about 11 channels from Hotbird, but reported that they were on 28.2E. What had happened was that the power failure somehow had switched the Diseq to "OFF" and the first dish in my setup had been pointing to Hotbird, but I still was unsure about the 11 channels.

I then decided to wipe the channels, re-patch and re-softcam. Then I sorted out the switching and all is now perfect again. The transponder lists had survived unscathed. They seem to be very forgiving boxes, but I thought to post this to reassure anyone who has had similar problems that my box had not been fried - it just needed some clear thinking as to what order to do things. Hope that may be helpful to somone.

Default Re: Recovery after power failure

The 1000 series are very forgiving boxes which let you get away with a hell of a lot before they stop working completely

Wish i could say the same about my TM9100 which is now bricked. I had about 2 days use from it before the power went off half way through a firmware update Its now stuck in a boot loop. Trying to sort it out with the memory stick and serial cable failed so the next step is to Jtag it

Failing that i may have to use it to keep the bedroom door open
