Default monoblock on tm5400

Hi I`m thinking about buying a monoblock for my 80cm dish. Given I have it fitted properly (dish pointing at HB13E and the astra side of the block on the left (or right looking from behind the dish) does my reciever support that? I mean the diseq switch. If I do what I`m thinking and enable the diseq in the installation menu will that work? Or do I have to buy somethig extra as well ie. external switch? 90% sure it will work but a little reassurance would be greatly appreciated.
I the good old days when SKy was in analogue and still on 19E I had two lnb`s with the side bracket, but then my reciever had two lnb inputs.
Im not too confident with all that diseq bussiness. Thought of going motorized
but in my location I wouldn`t be able to make a good use of it, so the monoblock looks like the best option in my case. ANd when buying the monoblock do I look for any specific specs or some cheap thing will do for now? I found one .2DB for a tenner(reduced from 20), will that do? Thank you

Hi roadrunner,

A monobloc will work fine on your system. The lnb has a built in disequ switch, so it's just a case of configuring one lnb to Astra and the other to Hotbird in the satellite settings for your receiver. A 0.2db for a tenner sounds fine.

Thanks Yorks
Just the last question in the subject. In the installation menu I have noticed a diseq submenu where you can select a range of 1of4 2of4 and so on do I select 2of4 or in the 1.1diseq 2of16 (depending on which LNB i get)and that`s it? do i do it at all or I do something else as well? Sorry for a stupid question, but am bit puzzled at the moment.

Hi,
For the monoblock you just need to alter the DiSEqC 1.0 settings, i.e use 1 of 4 and 2 of 4 only. The x of 16 etc are for DiSEqC 1.1 switches, which you won't have.
