Default Channel setup query

Thanks to the help on this forum I now have my pole cemented into the ground and found all the satellites and got everything scanned in. Even managed to patch my Technomate.
I have two further queries that I can't find the answers to on the forum
When I go to Astra 28E I have all the BBC regional channels and many of the ITV ones but although they come up as FTA I can't seem to access them. My box is showing a quality of 94 so it can't be poor reception. Anyone got any ideas?
Secondly, after I patched my receiver I have things like Polsat Au and Premiere Au. What are they?
Thanks for any help.

AU simply means Auto Update, if you leave your receiver tuned to channels in those packages the keys should automatically update.
With TPS you need to tune into as channel on a specific frequency, 10834 V, like Sci Fi.
Your receiver should open all FTA channels on Astra 2, 28.2E, including the BBC channels.
Can you try scanning in 11262 H 27500, Zone Horror, a FTA channel, just to ensure your dish is aligned to Astra 2.
Please post back with the results.

Thank you for your helpful reply.

No, I didn't have Zone Horror, but I do now. I also can access all the BBC channels. However, I have lost all my other satellites!

In trying to follow your instruction about scaning in, I learned about transponders. I also learned that the elevation markings on my dish are not at all accurate!

All I have to do now is go back to basics and do my initial set up again and more accurately.

Thanks for your help.
