Hi I have been given the above system, but i cannot get it too pick up a signal. The system belonged to my Father-in-law, but he also had problems so he passed it on to me too see if i have better luck. I checked the coaxal cable and noticed that the outer netting was touching the inner core, would this damage the LNB? Because the signal intensity satys at 36-37% and the signal quality stays at 10-11% no matter what i do.
I am a compleatley green novice, and just found out that there is more to this satellite busniss than just point the dish and watch the telly. So please i need all the help i can get. Thanks Roy |

A braid - inner core short shouldnt damage the lnb although its possible it could damage the receiver. However, most boxes are protected against this these days. The easiest way to find out if it works is to connect it to a friends sky dish and see if you can get a few channels scanned up. This will at least tell you if the receiver is working. If you do this unplug the sky box BEFORE you disconnect anything else!
If the receiver is proved good then you need to carefully align the dish - slowly does it remembering that you need to be within a degree in all directions to get a signal off a satellite

It usually comes down to pointing the dish in the right place if you have strength but no quality. Look at other dishes to give you an idea wich way to point it then move it very slowly until you have a signal.

Hi, i realize this is an old chat but hope somebody will still reply. I have bought a tevion mini satellite system to use in my caravan but also at home until sky come and set up the tv at my new house. I initially could get no picture at all due to 9 quality however after visiting dishspoter online i got it going. I used the suction pad to attach it to my car outside and is worked a treat and got 50% quality and a very good picture. however the rain made that pad unstuck and fall off the car lucky no damage done.so i decided my best option was 2 use the wall bracket on a post i bought, i put it up but now am having no luck. I manged to get bb1 and was perfectly happy, until we went to turn it over and discovered i am unable to get any other channels !! when on bbc1 i have 63% quality. i have tried moving it everywhere but only seam to be able to get bbc1, any help would be greatly appreciated, am very desperate 2 get it working. i bought it off amazon rather than aldi, but agree the directions on the box where useless!!!!!! please help
