Default NTL-Pace Chipped Box - is it dead???

I have a pace DC221 (based in dublin) and while i notice these arent knockin around the uk im hoping someone can point me in the right direction on what is possibly wrong with it. When I power it up the light turns orange (which always happens) then it turns green BUT theres no audio or video, it wont change channel or power down (even from the unit itself). It basically seems locked and I have no idea what is wrong with it....any ideas would be MOST welcome. By the way it was chipped and has a twinned card.

I think its bricked mate, have you looked inside to see if theres anything obvious like popped caps on the power supply or signs of burning on the board, loose ribbon cable etc.
