Default Hi everyone help needed again!!!!

First thanks for the advise I was given before xmas!!! Bought a tm1000d in the end. We have put up the dish today. New to all this and needing some help please.

When we try and view a channel it has a strong signal but comes up no audio/signal. We have no picture or sound. We have not patched yet as we seem to have the wrong cable to patch with the laptop we have. Could this be why?

Thanks for all your help!!

Have you scanned for channels yourself, or are you using the default channel list?

Try doing a blind scan around that frequency, you could even be on the wrong satellite.

What satellite do you have pointed the dish at?
What satellite have you selected on the receiver?
What channel are you trying to view?

The patch is not of any use on 28.2E.

Hi we have scanned for channels ourself and done what it says in the set up also a blind scan.

We have now managed to get the free channels. We are pointing to hotbird. Do we need a patch to get the channels with the dollar sign next to them?

Thanks

Yes, to open some of those up, you need the latest patch, a new one was released today. It will get you TPS and Polsat, with auto update.

You need a null-modem cable and a PC with a COM port (or a USB to RS232 converter lead).

The new patch released today works well with my Technomate 1000D Super. I also downloaded the Softcam just to make sure. One usually follows the other. The last patch and Softcam have worked well for about three weeks or so and as long as you give plenty of time for everything to settle down after the transfer from computer to Technomate then all should be well. Happy viewing!!

Hi, I don't know a full explaination, but as far as I know they are used for a simple encryption method. On my receiver (biss channels) they come up as 'unknown' encryption type. You can then enter the biss keys on the receiver to decrypt them. I think they are usually temporary.

Ok thanks. So I can't just type in the biss keys to decrypt a channel without patching the reciever?

Thanks
