hi there can anyone please help. i am setting up a new motorised dish it is a technomate tm220 super what i need to know is the dish bracket angle my lat is 53.3 north, long 2.1west, moter elevation angle is 37, declination angle is7.6. the dish bracket is 22.2. on the dish bracket it reads on top fo80 east 20 25 30 35 40 45. on the bottem it reads fo90east 25 30 35 40 45. what i need to know do i use the top reading or the bottom reading i would be gratefull for any help thanks edgegolf

What size dish is it?
If it is 80cm try the top scale, if it doesn't work try the bottom one. It doesn't matter too much as the scales are not usually that accurate, and you will probably need to re-adjust it anyway to get the max signal from your nearest due south satellite. Robbo

thanks robbo. would you know of any motorised erectors in manchester or lancs, i think i will leave it to a expert, i cannot get a picture at all. thanks edgegolf.

No, Sorry, Try the yellow pages I suppose.
You gave up a bit quick though mate, How far did you get? You don't have to be an expert to do it at all. Many a beginner has done their own. My self included. If you can put up a dish and align it, a motorised dish is just that one step further, but not really difficult. Why don't you just try getting your dish lined up as a fixed dish to start with, just for a bit of practice, 28.2E (What sky uses) is a really easy one to find. The most important thing for a motorised setup is a perfectly vertical pole, with a view of the southern skys (and 45 degrees or whatever you can get either side). Robbo
