Default Eurovox Freeze

Hi i wonder iff anyone can help i purchased a eurovox max 2008 about a month ago set it up all no probs got the channels all how i wanted them etc everything was fine for about 2 weeks. then all of a sudden on certain channels i started to expierience major pixalating and chirping noises even though the signals read 78 - 80% and evn 85% on some channels that were freezing. i messed around with the internal booster settings as this is beta2 kuro image on this box but to no avail.Anyway to cut the story short i have established that when i turn my broadband modem completeley off upstairs all channels work perfectly when switched on many freeze again.I hope someone can help me out as i need my modem on all the time due to the fact that i am always dloading stuff. What can i do how can i rectify this problem.I know their are many experts on this forum i just hope someone can point me in the right direction best regards martin.

Try connecting a booster with a gain control knob on it - this might work for you.
If it does not type in the search engine break up or picture or freeze etc and you will be able to read loads on this type of issue and different ways to fix it

I had same problems , sorted by buying good quality sattelite cable from the splitter , have split the broadband cable with a 3 way splitter going to 2 eurovoxes and another to the virgin box , all work perfectly .

Hello everyone!

I was having the same problems but it seems to be fixed now after looking thru some of the posts and getting help from some of the people that use this great site.

I got myself a variable attenuator a few nights back in maplin for 8 quid. I know it woz a bit expensive as to what u can get it on ebay for, but I couldnt be annoyed waiting for it to get posted out and was curious to see if it would work, the sooner the better if u know what I mean!

I brought the level I was receiving down from around 80-85 to 75-80%.

I had read on some of the forums here that too much of a signal can cause the interferences such as the twirping sound and pixelation etc. so I simply turned the level of signal I was receiving down and all seems good so far.

See below a link to the attenuator I bought of Maplin. Hope this helps. I also have the Signal Booster option turned off on my settings.

Maplin > Variable Aerial Attenuator

From what I have read the problems are caused by too strong a signal so buying a signal booster will only make ur problems worst. By buying the variable attenuator you will have control over the percentage of signal that you receive. Hope this works 4 ya as it did for me. Let me know how it goes.
