Default Using skymaster dx 24 receiver on sky dish

Some time ago I bought a skymaster dx 24 receiver in Germany.
This weekend I decided to try it out. I disconnected the sky digibox and connected the skymaster. The display says no audio/video signal. Rechecked all the connections, still no luck. Also the supplied remote does not appear to work, or does the receiver need a signal for it to work.
Downloaded the instruction manual from skymaster(for dx 25, but basically the same), but not much help.
Will the receiver not work with the sky lnb, do I need to replace it.
Any suggestions lads.

Its should work for the fta channels. Make sure the receiver is looking for Astra 2 at 28E (ie 28E is selected in the menu structure - if its looking at summat exotic with strange frequencies /symbol rates its never going to work.

If you can get into the menu structure send us a photo of the main menu settings - we might spot summat wrong.

Also as well as selecting 28E, you may need to do a satellite scan to get any channels.
