Default My virgin media (telewest) modem

Im a bit confused reading these posts about modded modems, how and why would I do this?

Is it something to do with upping the connection speeds, if so,

I have just run a speed check and I am currently getting speeds of 1.4 down and 0.2 up, can i up these any ?

The modem is connected to my belkin wireless router as is my dbox, I can connect to the dbox from the pc, how do I connect to the modem ?

these forums are about learning to do things its "educating people" to do these things. We shouldnt really give advice on where to buy modded modems.

My advice mate is look around try pick it all up and anything you get stuck on just post and someone will answer. Its best to do yourself because what about when vm attack again? you'll know roughly whats going on.

bandit is right dont play with your subbed modem.

i started by getting my hands on another modem (sb5100)
and with the help of people on the forums an by reading into it you can pick it up no problem
all i had to buy was a jtag cable as i couldnt be bothered making one, but mines come off ebay and the guy i got it from has been a great help

so all i can say is read up, ask if your stuck an you will get there in the end mate
