Is it possible to connect in such a way that I can use these 2 receivers and receive 4:2:2 feeds to the ss2 card on my pc using just one LNB?
The Sky dodgybox does not have a loop-through, so it is not possible.

I did read something on the satcure website about a "priority switch". I think that was what it was called, I can't remember what it did exactly, but it might be worth investigating.
What's wrong with a twin LNB anyway?

It mainly applies to the geegees. No idea what the current status is with tennis and other sports - although as SIS will be using the same vans, & other equipment for geegees and tennis tournaments chances are the same will apply.

One of the dedicated feedhunter sites will give you an idea of whats available fta and whats scrambled.

Smile Re: 4:2:2 feeds?

Is that an a-b switch robbo? At the moment my Technomate is looped to the sky digibox and when using the Technomate i have to put the digibox on standby (i think). When using the digibox the Technomate has to be on standby. The easiest option seems to be as jontydog suggests - loop through from Technomate to Skystar2, disabling the digibox, and when I want to watch sky re-fit the loop between Tecnomate and digibox. The only reason I want to avoid a twin LNB is it seems a bit much work fitting a second cable at the moment - although I'm toying with the idea of setting up an "office" in the spare bedroom and I would then go down the twin LNB route

No, it wasn't a simple A-B switch, it did something more, but it was a while back when I read it, and can't remember any more details. Have a look on satcure.

You can get manual A/B switches for a tenner from Maplin.

So could I use a manual A/B switch to switch loops between Technomate-digibox and Technomate-Skystar2?

Yes although you wouldnt be able to use both at once of course.

LNB
|
|
|
A/B switch---------receiver 1
|
|
|
Skystar 2

If you want to use both at once then the best thing to do is install a twin or quad lnb and run seperate cables.

Sorry for all the questions Analoguesat, but I just want to get it clear in my head. Is the following ok then? :-

LNB
|
|
|
Technomate lnb input
Technomate loop out
|
|
|
A/B switch---------sky digibox
|
|
|
Skystar 2

Yep, bothybhoy, that will work as well.

Also don't allow the Skybox to have no signal for too long, or it will get its knickers in a twist.

Sounds like more hassle long term though, than a quick trip up the ladder with the drill, and replacing the LNB.

Hmm, I think I may have a compatibility problem between my pc and Skystar2.
Taken from TechniSat DVB-PC TV Stars - FAQ's for Driver/Software 4.4.0 (I believe the latest version is 4.4.1 though):-

"1. Installation
1.1 Hardware
Question: Are there any known compatibility issues in combination with main
boards, which are based on the nVidia nForce 4 chipset?
Answer: Currently it is known, that our PCI cards are not compatible to most
mainboards, which are based on the nVidia nForce4 chipset."

I've been told the above applies to my pc hardware:-
"Driver
NVIDIA nForce PCI System Management
Driver Version 4.5.0.0"

If it is the case that I cannot use Skystar2 with my pc, what stand alone receivers would allow me to pick up 4.2.2 feeds?
