Thanks for those, just what I'd been looking for.
One more question, if you don't mind my continued harassment, I've just hyperterminaled in to my 250 and I'm getting symbols instead of a menu, any idea where I'm going wrong? |

lol. well that would annoy me!!!!
Settings are: Bits per second: 115200 Data bits: 8 Parity: None Stop bits: 1 Flow control: None Have tried hardware and xon/xoff flow control as well. The modem shouldn't be bricked as it's never been modded, has just been lying around for a long time not being used... |

So far I've connected cable feed and LAN to the modem, opened tftpd32.exe, set up the HT session and then powered on the modem (IP has been set already so no need to redo that which I can see) always resulting in symbols showing on the screen. At this point I am starting to think that the modem might have been bricked somewhere along the line although it does seem unlikely as I've only opened the case today and it's been offline for at least a year now.
Anyways, I'm giving up for the night as it's late and I have the terror of a Sunday shift tomorrow, thanks for all your help tonight, no doubt I'll be hassling again some time soon ![]() |

Right, I've given up on the 250, it's either been bricked by VM or damaged in storage somehow and lifting the TSOP is a bit more in depth than I fancy getting at the moment, maybe sometime when I have a bit more time on my hands.
For now I'm concentrating on the 5101E and I'm coming up against a bit of a problem connecting the blackcat, I've made a chipless one by following the haynes and connected it as if it were a 5100 (under the blackcat section in the haynes) but build 128 keep reporting either cable not connected or device not connected. I'm guessing that there is a different pinout for the 5101E but I can't find much info on that modem, does anyone have any ideas? |
