Default Playtime - Which Modem?

In your experience, which is the better modem with which to experiment.

The Ambit 200 or the Ambit 250? Or is there a better modem all together?

They are both quite easy to patch (with the right kit), they are also quite easy to brick. So long as you are in a DOCSIS - I area, ie not ex C&W, the Surfboard SB4xxx modems are probably the easiest and most stable - especially if you get an unlocked one.

So long as you follow the Tut's or Haynes guide closely, you shouldn't have a problem. If using the Infinite firmware, it's important to change the Telnet login/password before connecting to the cable feed.

Its that time of year again. Either decorate the house or find something new to play with. And guess which one takes my fancy?

I would go for an Ambit 250, although virgin medias recent attempts to brick them have made them slightly harder to get hold of.
