Hi All
I am a newbie to all this so please be nice to me, I have a Eurovox Max V working ok downstairs in my house, the cable comes out of the box in the wall to a 2 way splitter, one cable then goes to the modem and the other to the Eurovox. As I understand it if I want a box upstairs I will need a 3 way splitter and run a cable to another box upstairs. Are you still with me....what i want to know is if I can then split the cable upstairs to a box in another room or will I have to get a 4 way splitter and run two cables upstairs? Also I have read that you can run a maximum of 4 boxes off one cable connection via a 4 way splitter but what about the modem connection, does it mean that you have a total of 5 connections - 4 boxes and 1 modem or 3 boxes and 1 modem. Thanks in advance. |

It really depends how good your signal is, to try and run 4 boxes as well as BB, use good quality cable and try and keep the runs as short as you can, you can get a booster if needed, if your the furthest one away from the green box in street you wont have the best signal.you can use a 3 or 4 way downstairs and a 3 way upstairs depends what rooms your using.

Thanks for the quick reply REDDIESEL.
The green box is no more than 80 meters away from my house,so I assume I have a good signal. I only want to put boxes in two rooms upstairs at the moment so I figure I just need a 3 way splitter downstairs and a 2 way upstairs, by what you say this should work ok. I'll give it a go soon and let you know. |

Hi
Here is what i've done and all works fine. 1) 3 way splitter, 1 feed to 4mb BB, 1 feed to VM STB, 1 feed to 4 way splitter 2) 4 way splitter is used to provide coax cable to each bedroom for viewing tv. Result is really good with no long term degradation of signal / picture etc. I used the screw (F type connectors) and used good quality cable, reel from screwfix for about £25. I would like a 2nd STB but dont want to pay the additional £10/month any suggestions ?? |

I have now wired cabled a box upstairs and have a signal of around 79 compared to around 82 downstairs, I will update this when I have sorted the second box upstairs.
