newbie with pace di4010n

hiya folks,


I've just been given the above mention box with a card as well. The box was working last about 14 months, just needed the card updating. I've powered the box up, it boots up ok with old N*L software, only 4 channels available. 475, 479, 482, and 485 all without pictures or sound. Is there any hope for this box or shall i just sling it in the bin??

Take the top off the box and pull off the red jumper next to the battery, with it unplugged ,for a minute or two then replace, then plug box back in with cable attached, it should reset net id and update, go into eng menu and set pin and frequency, you should have freeview channels working bbc1 etc, then you just need to do card.

thanks for the speedy reply. Set pin to any 4 digit no. ? The frequency should be the same as on a samsung stb. Hold up and down on that box for eng menu as well? Then set that frequency on the pace stb and it should work?

tried that mate, but it wont let me access the eng menu. it comes up briefly, then nit, er12, er11 on lcd then after 5 mins goes into standby. then i can access the menu, change pin and freq but still boots up to original state. am i doing something wrong?

I think as it hasnt been used for a while its probably had a no update mod done on it, they used to do this to stop it updating to virg*n so that the pinbox would work on the old movies set up, theres a tut on it in downloads, think you have to replace a resistor or something.

does it require a lot of soldering? not very good with the old iron. also what do i require to sort out the card? if its too much hassle, probably wont bother. got a dbox2 working just wanted this box for the kids room

got my hands on a infinity usb unlimited. used this and nagraedit 4.1 to read my card and this was the result

From the channels numbers you have stated the box has a no update mod done to it. You will need to replace 1 10k resistor near the tsop. Soon as you put it on line it will update.
