Ok, I have a 250 with the infinite firmware, using the 250 configurator I have changed the settings to:
a working MAC (well, I've tried about 5 so far) cm-20480-768 Annex 3 Tuner 19 and all the other settings as per Haynes. Now the boot state simply gets to 'waiting for DHCP offer' and stays there. any ideas what this could be? at the moment it's a bit like looking for a needle in a hay stack! |

Just been having a quick look around the router. found the clearcmcert command under docsisctl, I have a sneaky feeling this might help but I don't really want to go pressing buttons and bricking the modem through stupidity just yet!. At the moment the status is showing 'network access - denied' regardless of the settings I change (I have been back through and changed everything as per the haynes as well as using 250 configurator just to be certain of what has been changed) and this is showing before the modem tries to sync so I am assuming it has to do with something on the modem itself rather than a remote setting...

Cheers bud, I think what I'm after is pretty much a reset all settings option for the infinity software as well, turns out that the max232 cable that I bought gives me gibberish from 2 seperate modems, one I know to be working so reflashing isn't an option until I can get a new one. Doh!!

Sweet, all sorted now, it was a combination of the wrong TFTP server and a MAC which looks like it may have been blacklisted, all up and running now
![]() On a side note, I'm clearly a novice here but I do have a decent amount of experience supporting DSL from the ISP side of things so have a reasonable knowledge of what might be going on behind the scenes, is there anywhere with reasonably accessible information on the cable only side of things I could read up on this stuff? |
