Hi
Has any one used one of these selfsat rectangular dishes, I think I have wasted my money, I can pick up the normal sky chanels but not rte/bbc etc, which I could with my dish. I live in switzerland, and I know I sound thick but if it say only one satillite can be received does that mean 2A or 2D not both ???? thanks for any help ![]() |

The squarial is probably too small for the astra 2D channels. 2D signal strengths fall off quite quickly eastwards and southwards:

Yes, there are a number of satellites effectively co-located at the nominal 28E orbital position. If the dish were big enough (in the UK a 43cm will suffice, mostly), if you are aligned to one, you are aligned to them all.
Unfortunately the Astra2D satellite has its beam focussed mainly on the UK, to make it difficult for non-UK locations to receive the Free To Air (FTA) channels there. |
