Does anyone use this reciever, or recommend something similar.
I am completely new to all of this, so looking for something to get me started before eventually getting a dreambox! Main reason for wanting this box is that it has the integrated card readers, not sure what these are for yet, or what the different types are, i.e Matrix, T-rex etc, but I'm sure it will all come together eventually. I don't know much yet, but seems techwatch has the most straight forward answers to noobies questions, unlike most other forums! I think alot of other forums forget that they were new once too ![]() Thanks Last edited by dangerboy; 11-01-08 at 04:56 PM. |

Hi, I have a TM1000D which is very similar to that model, except that it has no CAM or card slot, nor the USB port.
It will certainly get you started and is very easy to use. The receiver also has good unnoficial support at the moment, so you may not need to use a CAM. |

Cheers Robbo,
So I know it's not expensive (about £90 + delivery) but, if I am only going to upgrade should I go for a cheaper box without the CAM slots and then upgrade later, or will this reciever last me for a while? Sorry to be a pain |

Depends what you call a while, it will last as long as you want it to, it depends how far you want to develop your satellite TV interests. It would probably quite easy to sell anyway, when you decide to upgrade. |
