Will it be possible to get International Eurosport on the new freesat thats coming in the spring. I have the old reciever and understand it was on channel 19 on the old reciever. i also have the old dish on the wall i believe its not set to hotbird but the original astra that sky used before sky went digital. I would like to have both freesat programmes and International Eurosport because they show a lot of cycling with the english commentry, but can it all be on one box/dish.
thanks |

International Eurosport is only available in English on the old analogue transmission format. The free to air digital transmission only carries German audio.
So basically the answer to your question is no.

If your dish is truly set to where the Old Sky satellite used to be i.e. 19e, then all you need to do for now is plug an analogue receiver to it and you will have Eurosport Int'l in English. Might be worth a try if you can lay hands on an analogue receiver (or get one for about £20 on fleabay).

If you only want one receiver you do without Eurosport.

Ok, will two recievers work together without any probs, do you know if the german eurosport is same programming just different language. If i have to use two recievers will i need two dishes or one with dual lnb, is the positioning of dish and size the same for the freesat and the old sky analogue 19e i believe.
Lots of qs but i dont have a clue Thanks |

Yes 2 receivers will work together no problem.
You will need 2 dishes aligned at 28E & 19E, or one dish with 2 sets of lnb's at it.

No a BBC Freesat receiver will not cope with the analogue transmission. face it - you are going to have to have 2 receivers - UNLESS you do the following:
There are a restricted number of receivers will do analogue & digital. Ive got one - its called an Echostar IP3000VA but they are getting on a bit and no longer manufactured. They are slow at changing channel and a bit clunky these days. Mines out of service now but Id never sell it as its a nice bit of kit. With one of these you could have a disecq switch with 2 dishes or lnb's, and have the free digital channels from the UK off one dish Eurosport analogue off the other. Be aware Eurosport analogue will certainly be discontinued in the not too distant future, and then you will have to make do with the German language digital release
