I have V1rg1n Med1a broadband and tv, but my broadband comes through the stb, is it possible to get a hacked modem and use that instead?
Any help would be great, i have noticed lincsat sells modems so if you read this lincsat i might be interested in buying a modem so email me please. Thanks in advance. |

i used to work for aol and the telewest dept was right next to us, from what i learned a hacked modem used to be ok to use and a blind eye was trned to people who used them, but just now there is a big crackdown on them
and as they can be tracked i have stopped using mine you can get virgin bb for under a fiver a month now which works great for watching movies over the web etc. other than that you can get a modded modem on ebay for around £30-40 |

If your paying for the service anyway has it not occured to you that all you need to do is ask Virgin Media for a modem
![]() Just tell them you want to use it in another room away from the STB ![]() ![]() Nano

Just ask them for a modem, its easier. How long do you honestly think the Eurovox is going to keep working for
![]() Or you could tell them you want to leave and they will put you in touch with the "We don't want you to leave department". I now pay £20 a month no for TV, Broadband and Telephone with free weekend and evening calls after speaking to them ![]() ![]() Nano

TBH, you are better getting one from Virgin - I am reluctant to sell modems to Novices, especially with the current counter-measures.
