Question Anyone remember Chaparral receivers?

When I first started out with satellite television via one of those Amstrad SX200 boxes (deemed wonderful at the time) there was a company selling what was state of the art receiver called the Chaparral Monterey. There was a company, Steve Chivers Trading (SCT or something like that), that sold brilliant bits and bobs specifically for that receiver to enable it to do just about everything except being a teas-maid. They always advertised on the last page of the satellite magazines if memory serves me right.

The receiver seemed to be so far in advance to everything else available at the time and had a price tag to reflect this. What ever happened to it?

Any members here have one and did it perform as well as I imagined it would.

Just interested.
