Default Normal Virgin Box in another room

Hello to all you knowledgeable people!

This is my first post so be gentle if it is inappropriate or posted elsewhere.

I got a Eurovox 2008 today that works like a dream (so far )

I was wondering about my Virgin box. I understand there is the possibility that Virgin Media can send signals and if the box is not present will realise there is a problem.

I was thinking of setting it up in another room. If I put a splitter on the cable to the TV will the kids be able to watch the Virgin package in one room whilst we watch the Eurovox stuff in another?

Is it worth getting an expert in to do this if I want it upstairs? Will an engineer be bothered if I have a Eurovox box?

So many questions

you would be okay with a splitter on the cable ,and yes the kids will be able to watch a different channel than you are .
at the moment virgin can send signals to thier boxes and are unable to detect any problems. it will make no differance whichever way you connect the boxes happy viewing

yes i should think the engineer would be bothered, its not hard just put a splitter on the cable feed then run one cables to ur eurovox then get a long enough one to travel upstairs and connected it to ur virgin box

Thanks for your help.

I didn't mean a Virgin Media engineer btw, but you think a TV installation guy would bother too? May try it myself then.

True. Trouble is I have a frame on my arm after shattering my elbow

May enlist the help of my partner's brother.

Incidentally, what sort of splitter do I need?
