jabs universal Jtag problem

Hi all, for the last couple of days this jtag as been driving me mad, the jatag is the one with the green and red led in the casing, it also has a extra grey wire which ive put to the casing as a earth. ive used the other pogo version before and remember i had the same problem error 43 before, cant remember how i got round that but got it working. im tagging a pace 4000. ive change the paralell port setting many time to no avail, can anyone tell me if ive brought a load of junk but i would really like to hear a fix for this problem. thanks
