Question EuroVox MaxV 2008 - Sound Problems

Hi all,

New to this forum so please excuse me if I am going over old ground.

I have scanned your forums to try and fix my problem..

Got my Eurovox MaxV 2008 on Friday, installed straight away no problems, picture and sound both amazing. Saturday morning, great picture but sound replaced by crackling noise. Saturday late afternoon seemed to be corrected.

Since Sunday all I can get is Great picture and sound is a crackle. Tried with new gold plated scart leads, took to girlfriends house and plugged into her TV and cable with the same noise instead of sound.

Is there a fix is could it be a faulty box???

Many thanks in anticipation of a reply

It does sound like a loose connection, if you're sure the scarts are pushed in firmly - try re-loading the firmware.

Thanks lincsat for your quick reply.

The gold plated scarts are a good fit. I also connected a cable from the left and right audio out with the same outcome.

As I said, I am new to this so loading the firmware again is to download software and get a rs232 connection from my pc to the back of the eurovox???

Is the late oct firmware the latest??

Many thanks again

Thank you very much Spudgun. I thought I was going slightly mad...

I only got the box on Friday. I have e-mailed the supplier but not had a reply yet apart from the first time. They have an 0870 number that rings continually engaged even at eleven pm...

I did pay for it with paypal, so if the worst comes to the worst and all that...

Many thanks again, glad I found this forum......

Hi blinkey 101,

Sorry but I managed to get in touch with the supplier who replaced the box as it was only a week or so old. Got the new one back and it setup and works perfectly.

Good Luck
