Default ProgDVB memory leak/High CPU

Is anyone else having problems with ProgDVB 5.12.9 swallowing up memory and causing high cpu utilisation?

My system is as follows:

AMD Athlon 2500 Barton
1GB Ram
NVidia fx5200 AGP Video
TechnoTrend Budget 1500-C
Multiple ATA HDD

I have tried using DVBDream but that just keeps crashing when I try scanning for channels.

In progdvb try settings/options/other, adjust the priority to below normal, see how you get on.

Will give that a go Willin, thanks.

I was getting a bit concerned that the PC wasn't up to the task. Mind you, it would be a good excuse for an upgrade and not before time. Built this one 3 years ago.

i think you graphics card may gave an onboard video decoder chip, but to make it work you need the nvidia pure video decoder

I am currently using the PowerDVD codec, that is if I have set it up right. I will get the NVidia decoder tonight and give that a go also.

Thanks

NVidia Pure Decoder sorted my leaky memory issue, but I think I am going to have to upgrade something to reduce the strain on the processor and the picture is jumpy.

Do you think this would do:

Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
NVidia 8600 GTS
2GB DDR2 800 Ram
2x 320GB SATA (Striped)

Or do I just go and buy a Eurovox Max

when you get the 2 hard drives aet them up in a raid 0 formation, so you get 1 x 640 hard rives using 2 smaller ones, the advantage with that is you get double tha amount of heads and cylinders therfore much faster data rate, so it works out faster.

But you need a motherboard that can support sata raid
