i don't think they are that heavy as i tried mine out and this was just below the guttering and found it was light to carry up ladder

just the 1224 motor that has some weight to it about 12kg

on fitting andrews to diseqc motor i did see some collars to make the stab 120 motor pole wider for 3 inch mount of andrews dish but i wouldn't recommend that

If you use a h-h you do not need the AZ-El mount just a plate with four holes that bolt direct to the dish and another four that bolt to the h-h

the member wod has one maybe he has some pics of it,

As I was thinking, if I manage to see one locally, I would just get a sheet of aluminium mounted on the back and bolt the AZ/EL mount of my existing dish to it.

Do these dishes have to have a special/specific type of lnb fitted or do they accept a standard universal type like i use on my present dish?

You can use a 40mm lnb-f but best to use a c120 and the correct andrews horn as without it you will loose gain

they work best with the matched feedhorn and c120 type lnb over the 40mm lnbf

I work in the broadcast trade and here is a tip for you all always use what the trade use, We always use high quality dishes at transmitters site and earth stations etc go look at what small RX (receive) dishes we install (3m and under) for monitoring and RX, We also install Andrew or prodelin we never use triax or gibby or raven etc only use install quality dishes,
