It's something I've not tried as I don't really understand it all. Having said that, I've got the week after next off, if somone could point me in the direction of a site that explains things, I'll happily be a guinea pig!

When I spoke to Pace back in Oct. they said anything that was certified DVB would be fine - I've got Irdeto and ViaII to work without any problems.

Dont really fully understand it myself. Dont want to splash out on buying one just to use it as a door wedge.

For example:

Channel Jim on Astra 19e is encoded in Mediaguard 2. Does this mean you only need a mediaguard 2 cam as it is soft scrambled.

Channel Action Now is encoded in irderto 2 Mediaguard 2. SO does this mean you nead a cam and card.

Any help for a newbie appreciated.

Both those channels are secure scrambled so you need a subs card for them. There are few if any soft scrambled channels left these days.

Bought a matrix revolution cheap of ebay. Can offically say this cam works fine, and is decoding certain channels fine. The software version installed is mrv213. Also working is irdeto cam with freecam 2 on it. But not sure if i need a card in it or its maybe to old to decode any channels.

There are still updated files available for the Matrix Reborn, which can open Digi TV, Polsat and SRG, but I haven't seen anything mentioned about Premiere.
