I am in Canada I want to know on what sat can I get all of the sky sports channels can you please tell me I have a uncle who came from England and he wants to watch his favorite sports channels sky sports. Can you tell me what is the name of the sat and the direction

Sorry to say you have not got a chance of getting Sly Sports in Canada. It is on the Astra 2 satellites on 28.2 degrees East, but the beam is directed only at the UK. If it is football he is after then you might have a chance of getting some of them from other satellites over your side of the pond. I am not sure what sats you would need to look at, but you might try this link, it will give you an idea of what is on and where it is on.

You would also need to have a box that can unscramble the NDS encryption Sly is broadcast in and you would need a paid up subscription to Sly. You would be way better to try that link and see what is there for him.

Hope this is of help and that your Uncle will get something to watch. If you hover the pointer over the satellite on the site you will get the position of the sat that the broadcast will be on and you will also get what the broadcast will be encrypted in.

Not only does 28.2E not have a footprint that covers Canada, the satellite simply cannot be seen from Canada, due to the Earth being in the way.

Sky sports does not broadcast to the general public from any other satellite.

Your only hope might be a slingbox, if you know someone in the UK who could stream it to you. There may may be an official supplier somewhere, I know there are for some of the American services. The picture's a bit blurry, but it's still easily watchable.
