Hi all,
I recently reconnected my Sky digibox (been running on Freesat for approximately 18months after dropping sky over this problem) after being disconnected for some time due to renovation work. After getting over the initial problems of getting sky to resend channel 5, i find that I still have some channels don't come receive properly (I get a third of the image and it updates one every couple of seconds and stuttering sound). Also in rain I loose some of the channels complete (including my Setanta channels). I had this same problem when I had sky and asked them to come and move the dish because I thought it was in the wrong place. I deduced from the fact that everyone else on the street had their dishes on the front of the house and mine was on the side in the eaves point at my neighbours house (not a very technical assumption I know.). The channels in question mainly are a couple of the music ones (Charts and Vault - I think) and the kiddies ones (Pop and Tiny pop etc.) My questions are as follows: 1. How much should I be looking at paying for someone to come and check out the dish positioning and move it if necessary? 2. As i was a sky subscriber for over 10 years on analogue and digital before dumping them about 3 years ago, would I be able to apply for the new pay once watch forever and get new kit and installation for £100? Thanks in advance for any advice. Mark J. |

Hi, I wouldn't have thought that a local independent installer would charge much more than £50 to adjust the dish, it is a very quick job. If it needs moving then I suppose they would charge more. If you ring a few up and ask them you would get a better idea.
I think the pay once deal is for new subscribers, bu they may not class you as an existing customer after a period of time. It should say in the full terms and conditions. |

Thanks Robbo,
I'll ring around a few to get some quotes, just wanted to get a rough idea on what it might cost. I'll see if I can find the full T&C's on that Sky deal. Mark |
