pace 4001 err20

I unplugged my box so i ould get into the engineering menu and when i powered back on its come up with err 20 on the window.

Now i found a thread talking about Er20-Timeout on receiving NIT and futher down the thread it saying loss of net id and frequency.

However i cant get into the engineering menu to change these settings. I have pulled the red jumper - no difference. I thought these 4001 tuned the net ids themselves.

hmmm i got it out of the error by sticking in the power plug while holding the power button on the front. It forced it into a "tune"... THis box does seem funny when i pull out the power.

Is their a way to get to the engineering menu without cutting the power?? Some form of button press??

No you have to unplug and plug back in to get into menu, keep hold of up and down till you get diag on display, some take longer than others, you go past boot, you need a scart connection.
