Default Newbie help again pls guys.....................

hi all, and well done on a great site

i live in west berkshire uk, and have a 90cm dish kicking around, (ex eng) im looking at expanding my movie choice, (dont really do sports)
so after some days of reading here, ive come up with the ALB movie card.

Qs,

do the movies have subtitles?
is it a good service?

i dont want to spend a fortune on a recevier, so was looking at a

LIBERTY MCCI 2500+

any bad reports on these?

TBH, im trying to get going for around £200

also, i assume when the reciever is "patched" does this open up some encryption channels without the need for a card/sub ?

nearly done! lol,

what can i get roughly on the sat arc, here in the uk with a 90cm dish? just a start point and end point would be good

and what is the elivation for 16e pls?

Hi, Andie, Welcome to the forum,

A patched receiver would get you nothing on 16E, a card/sub is the only way to go for DigitAlb.

You are very slightly further North than me but on my 90cm (from memory) I can get 42E,39E,33E,28E,26E,23.5E,19E,16E,13E,9/10E,5E,1W,7W,8W,12.5W,15W,22W,24.5W,30W.
(Not all transponders). My arc is limited at the ends by its height from the ground.

For the settings for 16E use one of the calculators in the FAQs section, like satlex.de or dishpointer.com

Andie, just to let you know, the Digitalb film channels do have subtitles. But they are all in Albanian

The good news is that all or nearly all carry the original English soundtrack.

You can kinda get the jist of the story on some of the late night movies without subtitles or English audio.

Hi, with the right box and software you can watch the latest films from several sats, all shown before Sly show them. I have a dreambox, but some guys would reccomend the technomate boxes, it is just a matter of what you are comfortable with.

Why not ask Southern Satellite what he thinks. If were you I would forget about 16E and get my films from 13E, 19.2E and 1W, as I said they are the latest films and most have English audio.

What you are going to spend on the card for 16E you can have a very good box if you add it to what you were going to spend on the box.

Best regards Wez

Of course, it must be remembered that watching channels this way is not a guaranteed method. It is expected that soon, a number of these packages will no longer be available by unofficial means.

Hi, robbo is right my mistake not saying that.

These packages, which are encrypted in Nagra 2 at the moment are expected to migrate to the new, more secure, Nagra 3. Nagra 3 is not hacked, at the moment, not to the public at any rate, but some reckon that it will soon be and the more packages that go to it the sooner it will be hacked. As usual the hack wil be released in the for of some dog's bo**ocks card or cam, that will cost a small fortune, but all comes to he who waits and it will be made public in the end.

Best regards Wez

This game is full of people who want to make money or watch things for nothing. The Dreambox community is made up of pure enthusiasts and all is done by smoke and mirrors. Actually it is software and that is so much better than cards and cams. The Dreambox community are there to help each other, not make a few bob on the side.

I gave up programmers and cards and cams put them away in a drawer the day I got my Dreambox
