i have just recently purchased a Samsung 37" hd ready lcd tv.
the roblem is that i dont get a good picture on it from my sky box. I am using a gold plated scart cable to connect it to the tv. What i had in mind was the HD LCD tv would still be able to give a better picture than CRT tv even from the same source, But when i compair it with my old CRT, i think it is better on the CRT. Is this normal? Will i have to buy a HD product to get the benefits? or should the sky box using scart be giving me a better picture than current? Thankyou |

Your signal will be as good as the source. so if your CRT is 15 inch then the picture would be good, but if it is 30 inch then it would be enlarged. but then again CRT will not be beaten against LCD e.g. Scart to CRT will be good and Scart to LCD will not be as good. but HD will be awsom on screen. because of the resolution.
Higher the resolution better the image. |

What is wrong with your picture?
Most LCD panels are poor at showing SD pictures. Is it worse than when you saw it in the brightly lit showroom. Did you check the SD picture quality in the showroom?

Well i can say that i have the same tv but in 27" and it has a in built freeview reciever, Comparing that with my 37" i can say that the picture quality on the 27" is much better for some reason.
Thankyou |

It can do but the inbuilt receivers should be similar if the TVs are just different sizes of the same model. Have you tried them both from the same receiver? For example a sky or virgin receiver.

No i have not tried it yet. what i was thinking was if i connect my reciever to the 27" and then do PIP with one side for its own inbulit receiver, and the other side with the sky box. this way i can compair the pic quality side by side. Do you think this is a good idea?
