Guys I am trying to get Badr 3/4 (23E) and Hotbird 6/7A/8 (13E) from the UK. I could not find them
![]() . I have only Astra 2A/2B (28.2E). I moved the dish vertically (up/down) and horizontally (left/right) but could not get any signal. Is there anything that I should do? What do numbers associated to satellites mean (23E, 13E...)? Does it mean that Astra 2a/2B and Bard 3/4 very close to each other (position wise)? Thanks |

Hi, What dish size do you have?
23E and 13E are a long way apart. You should have no problem finding either of them. Have a look on Lyngsat, to check which transponders you should be looking for. 23E will be about 10 degrees to the left and a couple of degrees lower than 13E (from behind dish) Check out one of the dishpointing calculators in the FAQs section. MAJOR EDIT:: Badr 3/4 is on 26E not 23E. What size dish do you have? and what channels are you trying to get? Regarding the numbers 23E 28E etc, have a look at the satellite arc sticky in the FAQS section. Basically these numbers refer to the orbital position in relation to 0 degrees longitude. To get from 28E to 26E is quite tricky, as they are so close thay can almost blur into one. When I found 26E from 28E by manual adjustment, I found it was easiest to just forget the meter and just tweak the dish right a touch (from behind), and then going to check if I had a signal on 26E. Use a transponder that 28E doesn't have. Robbo ![]()

Hi,nebil. I am far from you, in other country. I shall try to help you. Move a dish slowly, approximately on 3-4cm.for the West, but a elevation thus do not change (it does not differ) to receive 23Е. 13Е little bit more difficultly, it is further on the West and below, approximately on 1 degree.

13E is higher in the sky than 28E is, here in the UK, and the elevation for 23E is slightly higher than 28E. I think the OP actually wants 26E, which is quite difficult to get. ![]() |

Guys many thanks for the great help! I am sorry as you see I am still beginner. I will explain more my situation. I bought the receiver pre-programmed (by the seller). So I have almost all channels and all satellites that I need. I checked and found that I can see the hotbird and Badr and Badr is the closest to my actual position (Astra 2: The dish that I have exists since the previous tenant installed on Astra 2 position, and I am ale to see all channels on that satellite). The dish has oval shape (39x52cm). I tried to move it (dish) up/down but there was no signal for Badr, I then tried left/right again there was nothing. I am very confused; should I move it up/down and left right at the same time or one by one? I learnt that Astra is 28.2E and Badr 26E (sorry I was saying 23E).
Many thanks to all |
