Well i'm going to have my two peneth worth because to put it politly i dont like being taken for a T*#T

Why has the download section requirements gone from 15 post to 50. Now come on you say that as it is bordering on legality so does increasing the post count now mean if you have 50 posts you are above the law ? no its more like its my toy and i'll take it home if i want to. Plus i'm no web master from the dark side but i bet all the extra post's from people wanting to get into the downloads will have a positive effect on gaining better banner advertisers.

I'm all for the forum being busy but why not have a general chat section why does everything have to be so sub devided even the lounge has sub catagories

Just to add there are only 23 ppl with a post count above 50 and they all seem to be mods what happens when you get to 49 posts? do they send round the boys to sort you out lol

The requirement has actually gone from 5 to 50 not 15 to 50.

It has nothing to do with taking people for a T*#T.

It mainly is do with muppets who come on here get their downloads, then f*** off elswhere. Genuine members will not be affected by this change.

You last sentence (I quoted)is completely untrue. If people join just for downloads, they are not welcome. Personally I would like to see the downloads removed altogether because of legality concerns, and some of the other mods share the same view, others disagree completely. The 50 was a compromise. So in summary you are luck that there is one at all, as that was another option.

Of course not!

But I bet there will be a lot of members with above 50 soon.

I should add, that everything in the downloads section is freely available around the net, and it seems that the downloads are more important to cable users than satellite. If you need help with where to download items for your satellite receiver, I am sure someone will be able to help.

I for one do not come on here for the downloads i can get them else where and i didnt even know i had them when i had made enough post's as i dont need them at the mo.

"Genuine members will not be affected by this change." go to the members list and list by post count how many of the ones above fifty are not staff so to speak.

I would like to see them gone totaly as well how many times do you see people told in a reply to "look in the downloads section you will find what you need there"
and the next reply being " i cant find a dowload section "
to be told "well you need <insert your own figure here>posts to get in there so keep posting"
how is this helping beginners its not and all the people who can get on there know of other places to find them

either they should be gone complietly or open to all not a if your in my gang system

exactly what i meen how do you get forum post figures up move the goal posts a bit then when ppl get to 65 change it to 80 and so on and so on

i just dont see how legality i side steped by post count

I agree, it is not necessary for satellite.
mmm, I know, I just looked at the members list, genuine members like yourself are not affected as they don't come on for downloads.

Ok come on ppl have your say should we bin downloads completely. This board should be being ran for all not for a few who want somthing for them selfs hidden away from others

This forum has been running for a few years now, and this is the first time it has changed( I think). I came from another forum ( forums merged) and we had no downloads section. No-one wanted one, and the posts were plentiful.

I can't respond to this, as I said, I wanted it gone completely, so no side-stepping necessary.

We welcome opinions

As long as any discussions are in a measured and friendly manner, with no personal attacks,slagging off the forum, swearing etc etc, it is not a problem. Don't worry, you will not be evicted.

However, I fear that the majority want to keep them.
