You've just gotta be strong and go through the pain of quitting. It ain't easy, but if ya don't start you'll never stop. When I quit, and Waspy will back me up on this, it was the biggest pay-rise in history. All of a sudden loads of disposable income all at once.

Sh1t man, go for it. Finish the packets you've already bought [be a shame to waste 'em as you've paid for them!] and bite the damn bullet.

What you say is true Elton and I know I'm only kidding myself. Apart from the money I'm beginning to realise my long term health will, more than likely, not be good unless I quit soon. I'm chewing my nails now thinking about it.

It's a downer ... and that's a fact. Your health will improve over time but it's slow (well it was in my case).

Go for it.

Yeah I think I will. In fact I'm going to start...erm next week.

All joking aside it's a definite maybe. No really I know I have to quit and the sooner the better. Tried patches etc etc so I going to have to set myself a goal and just go for it. We' ll see what happens.

FJ, If i can quit, anyone can, believe me. Fix a date to stop, read a stop smoking book, tell everyone your going to stop, even use a support group. Attack it on all fronts, and bloody GOOD LUCK

Duty on cigarettes to increase by 50 cents for a packet of 20. Now that's a good reason to give them up, €8 a pack.

I stopped a few years ago now after smoking for 10 years. Didnt use any of these products on the market, just good old fashioned will power

Have ya taken the plunge yet FJ? Stopped burning me own spondoolocks 10 months ago nearly and I ain't looked backed since.
