Default maths and motors ! ?

as some of you know, im going to motorise my dish sometime this week

now i want to set the harware limits on the motor, but im not sure how to work it out

i have checked with a compass on my mounted wall, and i can get, 60 degrees east and 220 degrees west, is there a site i can convert this info to motor maths? and a site that can inform me of the sats i can get in my little line of site? also incase you dont know i have a fortec star 90cm dish, i know not the best dish on the planet, but seems sturdy and have had no probs with 16e, i want to know the sat info to see if its worth getting a bigger dish, like an orbit or triax?

many thanks as always for reading this, and any info given.

Andie

Well done Andie, glad to here you got it going OK. I have a Fortec Star dish myself (80cm), and I don't think it is too bad. I recently bought an Orbital 1m, and in my experience the Fortec is actually better, despite being smaller. Tell me , what can you get off 26E with the 90cm?

Eurobird2 is on 25.5E, Badr3 and Badr4 are the Ku Band sats at 26E.

I can get quite a few of the channels from there on my 80cm. It depends on location within the UK as well.

The satellite arc FAQ may be a bit out of date/innaccurate. Its great for explaining the principle of how the satellites appear as an arc though.

Yes, There's few good channels on 11919H /27500, I can get them most of the time, but when it rains, no luck.
