Question Juliet 006 and Emus

Hello,
I have installed Juliet 006 using the Technomate loader, then I copied 3 emus in .tar.gz format to the /tmp directory using DCC.

Now, when I try to install the above emus using the blue button I get something like "catalog not found, download?". Unfortunately the box is not plugged to the network, so I can't download anything.

Is there another way to get hold of the above catalogue? Or am I missing something?

Thank you!

Sounds like that is looking for the download site. You need to select manual install for it to see tar.gz files in /temp.

Make sure you dont reboot after transferring the tar.gz files to /temp because linux deletes the temp files on reboot.

you need to go into the addon menu and do a manual install, cant remember the proper menu names as its a long time since i used juliet 006 on my tm9100

thought you would be using latest ur image or ds team image on tm9100 as they are more updated.

Jim,
Thanks for your reply.

That's probably what's happening - because I am switching off and unplugging the box to move it from the TV to the router (and back)...

Ok, so is there a way to:
1. tell linux not to clear the /tmp dir upon reboot, or
2. copy those files to another folder where they can still be found

Or is there yet another way to accomplish this, given my setup - i.e. router and TV in separate rooms?

I know I could get a wireless bridge. Or I could get hold of a crossover cable and go to the TV with the laptop - and that's probably what I will do, but is there anything I can do with the current hardware?

Thanks!

Hey wod,
Thanks for your reply.

At the moment I'm just experimenting, really - but the main objective is to install CCcam and get my Sky Italia card to work with it (there's another thread about this).

I've downloaded the DS 3.5 images, but I'm not too sure how to install them: TCC complains that it can't find any update image - or something like that... By comparing the juliet and DS zips that I downloaded, it seems to me that DS does not contain any scripts, i.e. flashtools.* files? Could I just use the juliet ones and rename the DS images to match the name of the juliet images?

Thanks!

Ok, I've done it!

I found a crossover cable and managed to install emus and keys - it works!

Thanks!

yes use the ds 3.5 update image with the following files dags_arial.fnt, flashtools.bin, flashtools.sh and TM9100_uboot.img from say the juliet 006 image.

so download juliet 006 image and delete the tm_9100update.image file and copy in the ds team image file into the same folder as the files listed above.

then open up technomate control center and click update and select the folder with the files in.

once the image has installed do a factory reset then you can reinstall the emus and key files etc.

once you have the ds team image installed any future updates to the image you can ftp the new image to the tmp directory and then do a manual install from the addons menu.

Hey wod,
Thanks for that - a couple of questions...

1. I'll be using the DS update image, right? What's the other (noboot) image for?
2. is it necessary to rename the DS update image to TM9100_update.img or not?

Thanks!

1. the noboot image is for the iboot i think its called, a program where you install and can run images from a memory card or hard disc on the tm9100.

2. you don't need to rename the file just copy it into the folder with the files i mentioned.

a big remember to download the correct image for your receiver as there is two models now the tm9100 and 9101 super version.
