Here in Portugal, according to a local installers regular advert, a 1.2M dish will do the job rather a 1.4M. with the 'new' service. (He is flogging the HD stuff of course)
My Q is, how would he know? --- Test trans? Where?

& Hi Guys...long time

The only 'new' thing is the EPG data from Eurobird, which has a wider footprint than Astra 2D.

Everything else is the same as you currently get from a FTA receiver or a Sky Box without its card.

Freesat is what the BBC backed service is called, Freesat from Sky is what the Sky backed service is called.

BTW, we make considerable more than a few pence on the sale of Freesat from Sky

When it does eventually kick in, do you not think sky will be totally pay per view?

no

They will start offering there Free sat at a lower price because once there equipment is installed they can tempt you with good short term offers and hope you are to lazy to cancel when the offer ends.

You can't get lower than free, which is what the Beeb and itv are committed to. Plus HD channels as they come on stream for free. I think sky have every right to be worried and I think Lincsat should take advantage of the situation, I know I would, as once its installed, theres no more revenue.

nether I would rather do it my self and then pay for the sky channels

There will always be further income for Sky even when they sell a Freesat kit, not from every one but from quite a lot. look at there pay once watch forever deal. How many will just not bather to cancel when the 4 months are up. Also as I have said Sky send out a lot of special offers to get people to subscribe.

I am sure you do, but a Derbyshire DS threader Nigel Goodwin says having done the sums, they only end up with 30 pence, I have had many a row with him on DS.

Anyhow the very wording no subscription in big bold letters, will sell freesat
and kill the lie "If its sat,it as to be Sky"

Of course the spoilers will start soon from Sky,their main interest is the news trade,EG in Scotland,News Corps Sun now brag they have the largest daily sale, yet less than 20%
is sold at cover price,so it wont be long now, have freesat from sky for nothing and have a years sun or times for
nothing, wait and see.

See you

Bob
