Yes the goverment channels.

You pay a license for them here as well for having a TV.

We have DVB-T all over Sweden with about 15 channels which includes Canal+ movies and CNN and all those channels.

So you don't really need a dish here if you are happy with those channels.

These DVB-T channels you get in Sweden with a standard aerial or inside aerial if you live close to the transmitter.

And also you get SVT-HD which is the HD channel but only in a few areas of the country.

Likvid,
You are very lucky there in Sweden, I reckon there will never be a time when we have a line up like that, not as long as good old Rupert the bear has his grubby little hands on the button and the government in his back pocket.

Very best regards Wez

Livkid, Good Morning.

Do I presume the Digital Terrestrial programmes are pay(subscribe) a lot of those and some we dont get would be pay tv here.

So pay a tax to have a dish, I thought Denmark was the leader in getting
taxes.

Enjoy the chat.

Yes 80& of those channels are pay-tv.

Nah, in Sweden you pay 52% tax of your income if you earn i beleive £50,000/year and above

Or VAT is 25% which is the highest in the world.

Or gazoline tax is the highest in the world, you pay 82% tax.

I can go on and on...if you are rich here you get poor fast because the tax system eats everything up, that's why this country is so boring and everyone got the same social status except the few that are criminals.

Wow im amazed, I worked for a Danish Firm(Feroperm) industrial ceramics, they opened a site in Wrexham(near Chester), the move was
because of the high taxation in Denmark, the boss told me, no one buys a new car because of the tax in Denmark, so what does a litre of petrol & diesel cost in euros,or £ would be better.(in Sweden)

Swedens tv is very costly to watch, and we moan about ours.

Must be some good things in Sweden, football managers perhaps, dam good result at Old Trafford yesterday.

Fully agree with you, taken as a rule of thumb, we have five FTA channels
that are unbeatable to my thinking.

BBC1/BBC2(with local op outs) ITV1/Channel four & channel five.
Also in Wales Channel 4 Wales (S4C).

We then have other FTA BBC3/BBC4/ITV 2,3,4,.

These are recieved by me on DTT and Sat without any subscription or extra tax.

The most watched are of course BBC1 and ITV 1.

In Ireland if you want to watch RTE1/2 etc very good channels, you have to pay to watch on satellite via a card,a one off £20, but then tied to a crap reciever that will only let you watch Astra 28 east.
