hey guys, first of all thanks alot for taking your time to help this newbie
![]() So my goal is: To watch free permiere entertainment system (germany) and possibly also others like MTV and so on. anyways i think its best if i note down what i have and use: i have a HUMAX PVR-9100 i use mainly HOTBIRD and ASTRA 1 and 2. Now please bare with me but from my reading of this forum i found that there are three "CAM" cards which i can get: 1. Diablo 2. Dragon 3. Giga Now my understanding, Diablo is the best. Why is this? Because of the number of channels it unlocks? or the frequency of firmware updates? Now as for my questions: 1. So assuming that i get a diablo CAM card, i read that i also need a cas3 programmer? What is this? is this like a piece of hardware in which i can stick in the diablo CAM card and so i can upgrade the firmware? 2. How easy to learn is it to "program" this diablo card myself? 3. Could you please give me a link to one of these cas3 so i know which ones i have to buy? 4. What is the approximate cost of a diablo + cas programmer? 5. Is updated firmware for the diablo easy to find, and free? Any other costs i need to include in this? thanks alot guys ![]() oh and how dangerous is this i mean in terms of getting caught? (sorry for such a stupid question) |

Be aware that its always possible for the encryption algorirthms to be tweaked at any time, and Ive heard several anguished stories of folk who have bought expendsive bits of kit only for the desired channels to go secure 2 days after they bought it!
![]() There are rumours that Premiere will be switching over to NDS Videoguard in the not too distant future at which point its game set and match to Premiere

The Cas 3+ is a programer, a piece of hardware capable of programming cams and cards, so is useful for future needs.
It is very easy to use a Cas 3+, and either Diablo or Dragon Cam, the files are widely available and members will gladly provide any help you require. The Diablo cam is considered the best at the moment due to support, but this could change very quickly as the team that support the Diablo Cam, Duolabs, is now producing a new linux based receiver called the QBox which will have a built in Diablo emulator. Whatever you buy now is going to be a gamble as all providers are trying to upgrade their encryption to stop us viewing, but as one closes something new usually becomes available, which is why it is best to be flexible. Currently the cams you have mentioned will open Premiere, 19.2E, Polsat, SRG and TPS, 13E, and Digi TV 1W, but so will patched receivers. |
