The MAX V (2008) is different hardware, it uses different firmware. AIUI, you can't load the MAX V firmware on older models.
The new White box version of the MAX V is the same as the Black box version - that is just a cosmetic change.

these manufacturers sometimes changed looks and hardware when the current or old boxes get cloned, the starviews manufacturers ahve done this, i think it is the same with eurovox

most things newer usually are, just think, fresh capacitors, fresh eeprom chips, fresh tuners. maybe even a slightly quicker processor and better looking front panel |
