Hi to all,
Bit of a strange techie problem. I have a pal who has previously had Cable TV but ultimately swapped over to Satellite. After he swapped over to Satellite he continued he left the incoming cable TV connections which he claims enabled him to still receive terrestrial TV channels (both analogue & digital) albeit they were quite low level & a bit noisy. He therefore used this signal to feed a separate digibox & TV in the house whilst using the Satellite feed to another TV. He has recently swapped over to a new TV with an integral digital tuner. He has split the feed he had going digibox & TV & fed this also into the new TV. He says the new TV cannot see any digital signals. My first question is are they still incoming signals on the old, cancelled Cable TV cables? If yes, then what signals are on the old, cancelled Cable TV cables? If there are signals I suspect that by splitting the signal he is now below a useable signal level. If there are not any incoming signals on the old, cancelled Cable TV cables then where the hell are the TV signals coming from as he has not got a rooftop antenna? Thanks in advance Tone |

yes the signal will still be coming through
but he will need a cable box and plug the cable in there and the signal should be strong enough BTW:- You've posted in the wrong section (Corrected- Robbo )

he will still get analogue channels and depending where he lives and what sort of tuner the TV has will also depend on the number he gets. I get about 18
