Question Vantage or DiSEqC problem?

Last weekend I upgraded my single LNB system to 3 LNBs (28.2, 19.2 and 13 deg E) and a new Vantage X221TSCI receiver.

When I connect each LNB individually and perform a scan, I get good signals (S around 75-80% and Q 90-99% on most TPs) on all three satellite positions.
However, I have a problem when I connect through the DiSEqC switch (after setting up the satellites on switch positions 1, 2 and 3 respectively).
On switching the box on (from standby), I can receive OK, and change channels on the same satellite.
However, when I select a different satellite, I get no signal, and even switching back to the original satellite does not work.
The only solution is to switch to standby then back on.
(At least, I think that's an accurate description - I should try again with a more methodical procedure to confirm this.)

Seems like a problem with the switching, but is it likely to be the receiver, or the (badged by our local sat shop) DiSEqC switch?
Is this a common problem?
Maybe I have overlooked something?
Are there any other tests I can perform to help diagnose it accurately?

I have something similar on my setup (dreambox with multiple lnb's) Some lnb's are "sticky" and wont let go of the disecq switch. This requires an off / on reset to get the rest of the channels back......

Unfortunately you have to experiment to see what works with your setup...... Ive had some lnb's from one manufacturer work and others not.

The problem also seems to get worse as the temperature drops!

If you have a 'sticky LNB', could you swap the positions of the satellites, i.e put the 13E lnb on 1, and 28E on 3.

Then see if you can switch, eg between 1& 2, or 1 and 3. This may help to deduce which one is getting stuck.

Another way to check would be to disconnect all the switch inputs and just test 1 LNB at a time through the switch.

Are the LNBs all the same model?

Hmm...

The outer LNBs are new MTI BlueLine twins, and the middle one is an ancient Nokia (which just happened to have a long enough neck to fit the yoke).
I didn't check whether there were any differences in behaviour between these.
I also have an Invacom on my other dish, which I haven't tried with DiSEqC yet.

I guess it's another weekend up the ladder...

Or hope it clears up when the weather gets warmer...

I would suspect the old Nokia, just because it is old, and may have some compatibility problems. I think AS has some oldish ones too. ( I happened to be reading his digital sat website last night)

Yes - introduce the lnb's one at a time.
