hey everyone i have a sony psp with firmware 2.7 and a 4gb memory stick duo and i was looking to upgrade it to 3.71 M33-4 firmware to play psp and ps1 games from memory stick how can i do this im a newbie so plzzzz help cheers

A couple of ways to do this..
First if you have a copy of Lumines then upgrade to Sony's official version 3.50 and then download the noobz Downgrader for PSP v3.50 firmware. Run it following the instructions carefully.

or if you have a friend running custom firmware make a Pandora Battery and create a MS that has Dark Alex's Desperter del Cementerio V4. This method is the best if you can get a pandora battery from a friend. This method will also unbrick or downgrade any version PSP, both Phat and the new Slims. This will put your PSP to 3.80 M33-5

hey i dont have a pandora battery but how can i downgrade 2.7 to 1.5 and then upgrade to latest can you give me the downgrader by any chance???? CHEERS

Do you know the version of your motherboard... Is it a TA082?

If not then pm me then I'll send you a program that can do it.

The only way you can downgrade 3.71 is using a pandora battery.

Hi everyone i have been reading some of the threads regarding version updates over the past few days but still not too sure what to do, if some could help me out please.

i have picked up a secondhand psp phat and want to do what everyone else appears to be doing, but i don't have a clue.

The more i read the more i become confused.

I have a version 2.70 and when inspecting the inside of the UMD cover i cant see any writing on the motherboard, after that im lost please help.
